Associated Electrical Distributors will use the new trading name Fegime Uk from 1 January onwards. Fegime – Fédération Européenne des Grossistes Indépendants en Matériel Electrique – is a pan-European association. It comprises nine buying consortia from Belgium, Spain, Italy, Southern Ireland, Portugal, Germany, Netherlands and Poland. AED is one Fegime consortium and has been a member for almost three years.
Fegime has a total of 170 member companies with 450 sales outlets and a turnover of €1.9bn. Its member companies try to guarantee independence and growth for medium-sized wholesalers and partnership agreements are in place with manufacturers such as Osram, Philips, Pirelli, Schneider and Nexans.
