 | Bailey contract gets the green light

 NG Bailey, one of the UK’s largest building services providers, has been awarded a £20million contract to provide the category A mechanical and electrical fit out for Drapers Gardens, a grade A specification office development in the City.
Occupying a prime location to the North of the Bank of England, work will commence on site in July 2008 on the distinctive 270,000sq. ft. development, for Canary Wharf Developments and Exemplar Developments, designed to achieve an ‘Excellent’ BREEAM rating.
Bailey Building Services will supply, install, test and commission the mechanical, electrical and public services. Bailey Off-Site will be responsible for supplying prefabricated electrical pods consisting of containment, bus bars, distribution boards and risers floors.
The team behind Drapers Gardens, due for completion in Autumn 2009, consists of development manager Canary Wharf Limited, and development partners Canary Wharf Developments and Exemplar Developments, main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine and architect Foggo Associates Limited. The scheme will feature distinctive architecture with full height glazing, panoramic views of Central London and striking roof gardens at three levels.
