Face shield gets thumbs up

back | 30 Apr 2008

Scott Health and Safety announce that the Protector FHK67 electrician's helmet mounted face shield carrier combination has been enhanced to offer versatility, comfort and optimum protection against short circuit electrical arc of up to 1000V a.c.

The Protector FHK67 carrier is certified against the requirements of VDE, designed without metal components and fitted with rubber tension attachments. The peak profile of the FHK67 has been modified to provide an optimum fit for both the established Protector Style 300 and Style 600 safety helmets. The carrier face shield combination also securely fits many other modern profile helmets.

The electricians carrier can be supplied with acetate or acetate anti fog face shield and is CE approved to EN166.

Following the product enhancements, Scott Health and Safety resubmitted the Protector FHK67 face shield and carrier for European approval testing and as a result, this was successfully upgraded from low (Grade F) to medium (Grade B) impact approval. The electricians helmet mounted face shield carrier was also submitted to the Institut Prüffeld Für Elektrische Hochleistungstechnik GMBH (IPH Berlin) and in combination with both the Style 300 and Style 600 safety helmets, passed the tests to receive IPH Approval.

Protector Style 300 and Style 600 safety helmets are approved to EN50365 and VDE 1000V, enabling Scott Health and Safety to offer a fully approved head and face protection combination for electricity workers.
