Our home away from home
We have been hosting the Electrical Industry Awards at the Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington for last nine years now and we think it’s a great venue!
Located just outside the Kensington Gardens and the adjacent Hyde Park, the setting couldn’t be better. It’s home to one of the largest urban green spaces in the world with 600 acres of parkland right in the heart of central London. The palace and the Royal Albert Hall can also be seen from the hotel.
Steeped in history
The hotel was once headquarters for the Woman’s Royal Voluntary Service as part of the war effort in the 1900’s and since being demolished to be completely re-built in the 60’s, the hotel as we know it has provided accommodation for many famous guests, from the The Monkees in 1969, to Rihanna and Matt Le Blanc of Friends more recently.
In 1966 it hosted the official reception celebrating England’s victory in the World Cup final and with it’s proximity to Stamford Bridge – the home of Chelsea Football Club – it continues to be the hotel of choice for visiting Premier League squads.
And it’s not just footballers that favour the hotel, many international rugby teams such as South Africa, New Zealand and Australia have used it as a base.
The atmosphere of the Palace Suite
As it has been for many years, this year’s Electrical Industry Awards will be held in the Royal Garden Hotel’s Palace Suite. The suite has a fantastic atmosphere and the night is real celebration of all things electrical, with winners, finalists and guests all getting the opportunity to network and reward a whole host of proactive approaches to individual achievement, technical innovation, and supply-chain collaboration.
The night includes a four-course meal and entertainment, and once the winners have been announced, a disco commences and it’s time to let loose on the Palace Suite dance floor!
