A new partnership between Niglon and the electrical industry’s dedicated charity is set to support those struggling with bereavement, redundancy or illness.

The Niglon team announced the partnership this month (June) and will be donating 10 per cent of the profits from every single Median range product sold to the Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) going forward.

The charity was set up more than 100 years ago to support individuals and families in need – and more recently has been helping those impacted by the long-term effects of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Paul Dawson, Niglon’s Commercial Director, explains: “Like many of us at Niglon, I have worked within our industry for 32 years and feel very passionately about giving back to others and supporting my peers and colleagues where I can.

“While there have been ups and downs over the years, we have collectively never experienced anything like the Coronavirus pandemic and that’s why we have announced the partnership now – because it’s needed more than ever.

“The world might be slowly returned to some sort of normality, but that doesn’t erase how tough the past year and a half has been for all of us. For many, pre-existing issues have worsened and there have also been widespread new problems like redundancy because of the pandemic, Long Covid, and the emotional impact of being separated from family and friends.

“We’ve all worked hard to keep the industry going, and now at Niglon we want to support the incredible work the EIC is doing to assist our peers and colleagues to get back on their feet again. We’re proud to be launching the partnership and to be working with the EIC going forward.”

The EIC was launched more than 100 years ago and offers support to anyone within the electrical, electronics and energy industries experiencing a range of issues including family or relationship problems, financial or legal worries, emotional or mental health problems, and ill health or disability.

There are a range of non-means-tested services including general family-law legal advice, counselling, bereavement support, CV help following redundancy or job loss, and clinical occupational therapy for those who’ve had a serious mental health absence and are now returning to work.

The charity also has means-tested services like holistic-based intervention, financial assistance and grants, debt advice, and an apprentice bursary scheme.
