Electrical contractors are set to hit the big screen as NICEIC and ELECSA announce plans for the most wide-reaching event ever devised in the electrical industry.

It’s lights, camera, action for NICEIC and ELECSA as they announce plans for the most wide-reaching event ever to hit the electrical industry.

Both accreditation bodies will be transmitting a live talk via satellite on the 18th Edition that will be screened in 40 cinema screens simultaneously.

Marketing Director of NICEIC and ELECSA, Mark Smith, has said “the upcoming launch of the 18th Edition will be an important time for every electrician across the UK. “We wanted to do something unique, affordable and easily accessible to help contractors gain an improved insight into the forthcoming changes. This will be a genuine world first. It has never been attempted on this scale anywhere in the world before. It is something we are sure every electrician across the nation will want to see.”

The 18th Edition seminar will be broadcast from the world famous Faraday Theatre, in The Royal Institution. Hosted by industry experts Darren Staniforth and Alan Wells the talk will focus on the changes included in the new regulations and what it will mean for electricians in their day-to-day work.

“When the 17th Edition was launched in 2008, a lot of industry myths emerged because multiple messages were communicated by different speakers. The advantage of broadcasting to all four corners of the UK on a single day is that we can communicate a single, consistent message to the industry,” commented Darren Staniforth.

Mark added: “We wanted to film it at an iconic venue. The Faraday Theatre is a historic lecture hall where Sir Michael Faraday demonstrated his discoveries to the public in 1824. NICEIC and ELECSA will be delivering its talk about the 18th Edition, in the same theatre, 194 years later.

NICEIC and ELECSA have partnered with Vue and Omniplex Cinemas to put on the 18th Edition event.

The live seminar and cinema event will take place from 9am on Wednesday, 4Th July. Tickets to the cinema screenings will go on sale in April and will cost just £5 +VAT.

Around 2 000 electrical contractors are expected to attend the screenings at locations including Glasgow, Plymouth, Cardiff, Belfast, London, Leeds and many more.

More information about tickets and the cinemas involved will be announced shortly on www.18edition.com/cinema
