VIDEO COP27: Investing in the next generation

As COP27 continues apace in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, ECA is urging our leaders to focus on net zero skills and training.

From electric vehicles and heat pumps to solar panels and wind farms, all the innovative technologies that are driving the UK towards achieving net zero, need one important thing – more qualified electricians.

The next generation of electrotechnical designers, installers and contractors are the lynchpin of a low carbon electrical grid, and Government must focus on providing training and competence frameworks to ensure we have the right workforce to deliver our ambitious net zero goals.

As part of its flagship Leading the Charge campaign, ECA and Content with Purpose spent a day filming electricians and apprentices from ECA Member firm MA Broughton as they worked on a new solar PV project.
