Drayton is celebrating after achieving a major health and safety milestone at its Plymouth manufacturing facility, which has now recorded more than 1.5 million working hours without a lost time accident.

The achievement has been recognised by parent company Schneider Electric, with the site receiving a Certificate of Achievement in recognition of its outstanding safety performance.

The milestone reflects Drayton’s long-standing commitment to protecting the wellbeing of its employees, contractors and visitors, with robust health and safety processes embedded throughout its operations. The Plymouth facility, where Drayton has been designing and manufacturing heating controls for the UK market for more than 75 years, also holds ISO 45001 certification for occupational health and safety management.

The award was presented to Darren Cooke, Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainability Manager at Drayton, by Dan Hutchinson, Vice President – HR UK, Schneider Electric, recognising the collective efforts of colleagues across the Plymouth site in maintaining exceptional safety standards.

Darren Cooke said: “Reaching 1.5 million working hours without a lost time accident is an achievement everyone at our Plymouth facility can be incredibly proud of. It reflects the commitment, professionalism and vigilance shown by our colleagues every day, who consistently put safety first.

“Creating a safe working environment is fundamental to everything we do. While we’re proud to have reached this milestone, our focus remains on continually improving our health and safety performance and ensuring everyone returns home safely at the end of every working day.”

Sustainability, operational excellence and employee wellbeing are central to Drayton’s manufacturing operations. The latest milestone further demonstrates the company’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety while continuing to manufacture trusted heating control solutions for homes and businesses across the UK.
