SEG renews St Albans City FC partnership for the 2026/27 season

The Specialist Electrical Group Ltd (SEG) has renewed its partnership with St Albans City Football Club for the 2026/27 season, continuing the company’s sponsorship of the York Road Stand at Clarence Park.
SEG is a St Albans business. Its head office sits on Watford Road in Chiswell Green, barely two miles from the turnstiles at Clarence Park, and a good number of the people who work there grew up watching the Saints. Backing the club is not a marketing exercise, it is a local company putting its name to a local institution that has been part of this city since 1908.
The renewed agreement keeps the SEG name on the York Road Stand for another season, in view of supporters at every home fixture. The club begins the campaign in the Isthmian League Premier Division, and the group has committed to standing behind the team for the full season, home and away, whatever the table says in May.
Why it matters locally
Clarence Park is one of the few places in the city where people of every age and background stand shoulder to shoulder on a Saturday afternoon. Non league football runs on volunteers, on families who bring their children through the gate, and on local businesses who choose to put something back rather than spend the same money somewhere with no postcode attached.
The group employs, trains and buys locally, and works across Hertfordshire on electrical contracting, data networks, EV and renewables, and communal door entry. The same engineers who wire schools, housing blocks and businesses across the county are the ones standing on the terrace on a matchday.
Comment
Russell Solts and Michael Simm, both Directors of The Specialist Electrical Group, said: “We are a St Albans company and this is our club. Supporting the Saints is not about visibility, it is about making sure a club that has served this city for well over a century has the backing it needs to keep going. Our people are on that terrace with everyone else. We are proud to be there for another season, and we would encourage anyone who has not been down to Clarence Park to come and see what they are missing.”
Tom Dean, Commercial Manager at St Albans City FC, said: “SEG are exactly the kind of local partner we’re delighted to have supporting the club. As a St Albans business, they understand the city and what the club means to the local community, and their support makes a real difference both to the club and to the matchday experience for our supporters. We’re delighted to have them with us again for 2026/27 and really appreciate the commitment they’ve shown to the club. We’re proud to have SEG alongside us and look forward to another great season together.”
Meet Clarence
SEG is also using the new season to introduce Clarence, the SEG group’s new mascot. Named after Clarence Park itself, Clarence is a lion in full SEG kit, and he will be appearing through the 2026/27 season across SEG’s pages in the matchday programme.
