TradeUnited has launched a new benefits platform built around a simple idea: the UK trade is a huge community, and bringing more of it together should create more value for the people working in it.

TradeUnited brings verified tradespeople together across different trades, employers and ways of working, giving brands and partners a defined trade audience while bringing exclusive benefits back to its members.

Members can join directly or access TradeUnited through participating employers. Whether they’re employed, self-employed or subcontracting, what connects them is that they’re genuinely part of the trade.

The platform launches with offers from brands including Bosch Professional, Ledlenser, KeySafe, Drivalia, WasteOnline and Direct Ferries.

But discounts are where TradeUnited starts, rather than where it intends to finish.

As more of the trade joins, TradeUnited aims to use the collective scale of its membership to unlock better benefits, services, support and opportunities for the people within it.

TradeUnited was founded by Dave Hinchcliffe, Luke Johnson and Andi Whyles. Dave and Luke were part of the early team at Blue Light Card, holding senior roles as the platform developed and grew.

Dave Hinchcliffe, co-founder of TradeUnited, said:

“The trade is massive, but individually we’re still just individual customers. Bring enough of us together and that changes.

“That’s the thinking behind TradeUnited. If we can bring more of the trade together, we have more pull with the brands and businesses that want to work with that audience, and we can bring more of that value back to the people actually doing the job.

“We’re starting with useful offers from good brands, but that’s only the beginning. The bigger TradeUnited becomes, the more useful we want it to become for everyone who’s part of it.”

TradeUnited’s verification model means participating brands can provide benefits specifically to people working in the trades rather than making an offer available to the wider public.

For employers, it also provides a ready-made way to offer additional benefits to their trade workforce, without limiting membership to people working for a particular company.

And for tradespeople, the principle is deliberately straightforward: more of us means more pull.
