ECS STRENGTHENS ELECTRICAL SAFETY COMPLIANCE WITH PROPELLER SOFTWARE

Technology will streamline safety checks across 15,000 homes

Electrical compliance specialist ECS, part of Premier Technical Specialist Group (PTSG), has partnered with software provider Propeller to streamline electrical safety checks across more than 15,000 social housing properties, improving efficiency, safety and the customer experience.

Propeller’s cloud-based solution enables ECS to digitally schedule appointments in line with regulatory deadlines to help prevent overdue checks. The system also automates tenant communication, provides real-time reporting on compliance and engineers’ performance, and generates commercial data on labour, materials, travel time and job costs.

The move follows new regulations for social landlords requiring Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) to be issued to existing tenants within 28 days of inspection and to new tenants before they move in. Remedial works must also be completed within 28 days of identification.
