Peter van der Kolk appointed Vice President of Thorn Lighting

Thorn Lighting is pleased to announce that Peter van der Kolk has been appointed Vice President, effective 5 October 2026.
Peter’s appointment supports Thorn’s continued strategic development as a leading international lighting brand, building on its strong heritage while strengthening its position for future growth. With more than 25 years of international leadership experience, extensive knowledge of the lighting industry and a strong track record in developing global businesses and brands, Peter brings valuable expertise to Thorn at an important stage in its development.
Most recently, Peter served as CEO of Astro Lighting. Prior to this, he held senior leadership positions at John Cullen Lighting, ASSA ABLOY and Helvar, as well as earlier roles at Philips and iLight. He also served as Chairman of the DALI Alliance, contributing to the development and advancement of industry standards.
Peter’s experience across the lighting industry, combined with his international perspective and strong focus on customers, brands and business development, will support Thorn in further strengthening its market position and creating value for customers and partners around the world.

Peter succeeds Saurabh Pandhi who was appointed CEO of Tridonic in September. Saurabh is thanked for his leadership and significant contributions to Thorn Lighting and is wished much success in his new role as CEO of Tridonic.
