IDE Electric has announced a new UK stock location with Tech3PL in Stoke-on-Trent, marking another important step in the company’s continued development within the UK electrical market.

The new stock location will provide IDE UK with a dedicated logistics base in the UK, helping the business hold products closer to its growing customer and distributor network and strengthening the infrastructure behind its UK operations.

Tech3PL operates from Fowlea Road in Stoke-on-Trent and provides specialist warehousing and logistics services.

Strengthening IDE’s UK presence

IDE UK has been steadily developing its presence in the UK, working to increase awareness of the IDE brand and build relationships with electrical distributors, wholesalers, panel builders, OEMs and other industry partners.

The introduction of UK-held stock represents a natural next step in that development.

For customers and distribution partners, having stock located in the UK will help create a more responsive and accessible supply structure, while giving IDE a stronger platform from which to support the continued growth of its distribution network.

The move also complements IDE’s UK-based commercial presence, providing the business with both local representation and a physical UK stockholding as it develops relationships across the market.

From Zaragoza to international growth

While IDE UK is relatively new to the market, the business behind it has an established international history.

IDE Electric was founded in Zaragoza, Spain, in 1987 and has grown progressively from a small product range into an international electrical manufacturer. Investment in product design, innovation and manufacturing technology has been a consistent part of that development.

International expansion has also played an important role in the company’s strategy. IDE began targeting export markets in the early 1990s and subsequently established its own operation in Germany in 2003.

More recently, the Zaragoza Chamber of Commerce reported that IDE’s exports doubled from €13 million to €26 million over a four-year period to 2023, with international sales accounting for more than half of turnover.

That international experience provides the foundation for IDE’s next phase of development in the UK.

More than a stock location

For IDE UK, the move to Tech3PL is about more than warehousing products.

It provides additional infrastructure to support the company’s longer-term ambition of developing a strong and sustainable UK distribution network.

Rather than focusing simply on increasing the number of businesses stocking IDE products, the company’s approach is centred on developing relationships with distributors and wholesalers that see a genuine fit between IDE’s portfolio and the requirements of their customers.

IDE’s offering extends across electrical enclosures and cabinets, terminal boxes, industrial plugs and sockets, distribution and protection, thermal management and customised solutions, providing opportunities across a variety of electrical applications and sectors. IDE’s current website also highlights product families spanning distribution enclosures, ARGENTA cabinets, MUNDIAL industrial plugs and sockets and customised ARGENTA solutions.

Looking ahead in the UK

The new Stoke-on-Trent stock location forms part of a wider commitment to the UK market.

IDE UK intends to continue increasing awareness of the brand, developing its distributor and wholesaler network and providing greater local support to electrical professionals throughout the country.

With Sales Manager Chris Edwards based in the UK, customers and prospective partners have a local point of contact backed by the manufacturing capability and international experience of the wider IDE Electric business.

The direction for the coming years is clear: to establish IDE as an increasingly familiar name within the UK electrical sector while building the infrastructure, product availability and distributor relationships needed to support sustainable long-term growth.

Chris Edwards, Export Sales Manager, IDE Electric, said:

“The new UK stock location is an important step in the continued development of IDE in the UK. As we build relationships with more distributors, wholesalers and customers, having stock based here gives us a stronger foundation from which to support the market.

“Our focus is on long-term growth. We want to make IDE more accessible across the UK, develop strong relationships with our distribution partners and combine the support we can provide locally with the experience and manufacturing capabilities of IDE Electric as a whole.”
