The KNIPEX Stripping Knife
For electricians working on hard, tough or heavily reinforced cable sheaths, a reliable strip can be the difference between a clean job and a damaged conductor. The KNIPEX 16 50 145 SB Stripping Knife is built to make light work of stubborn cable sheaths, combining a ratchet function with three cutting areas in one tool.
The ratchet function makes cutting easy across a variety of cable sheaths, while the versatile blade offers three cutting areas for round and lengthwise cuts. It’s capable of cutting very hard or tough plastic sheaths up to 7mm wall thickness, taking on cable types that would slow down a standard stripping knife.
A guide shoe protects the conductor insulation beneath the cable sheath, reducing the risk of nicking or damaging the cable while stripping back the sheath.
The sickle-shaped, replaceable hook blade folds away for safe transport and has four working positions: folded, straight, angled and ratcheting. A three-stage blade lock keeps the tool secure in use and safe to carry and an integrated tether attachment point allows the knife to be used with the KNIPEX Tethered Tool System for work at height.
The knife has an ergonomically designed handle for comfortable use throughout the working day. When the blade eventually wears, it doesn’t mean replacing the whole tool either: a spare blade with guide shoe (16 50 145 E01) and a replacement latch (16 50 145 E02) are both available separately, keeping this knife in service for years to come.
