Former Swansea City forward Lee Trundle will be joined by Shaun Wallace — widely recognised as “The Dark Destroyer” from the ITV quiz show The Chase — for a special charity football match this June, giving up their Father’s Day to support children who have lost their fathers.

The match will take place on 21 June at Billericay Town FC, where two established charity sides, Inter Legends and Tradie FC, will come together for the first time in a unique, one-off event.

The initiative aims to raise funds and awareness for bereaved children, while also providing a meaningful and memorable experience for families affected by loss. As part of the day, children who have lost their fathers will be given the opportunity to walk out onto the pitch alongside players.

Organisers say the event is designed to offer support and create positive memories during what can be a particularly difficult time of year for many families.

Families who have been affected by the loss of a father are also being invited to take part in the event. Anyone who knows a child who may find this Father’s Day especially challenging is encouraged to get in touch with organisers. A number of places are available for children to be involved in the matchday experience, including walking out with the players.

Further celebrity participants are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets for the event are now available via https://www.skiddle.com/e/42401008, with proceeds going towards supporting bereaved children and their families.
