Drayton has launched its own channel on ‘If This Then That’, the Internet of Things platform, to pair with the Wiser range of smart heating controls.

IFTTT, the web-based service, can be used to create Applets, which are commands that pair up smart devices using two elements: a trigger (‘If This’) and an action (‘Then That’).

Geofencing, enabled by the pairing of IFTT and Wiser, can link with the system’s Eco Mode. Homeowners can activate an ‘Away Mode’, by linking wiser with apps such as Life 360, purely by commanding it to do so when the last family member leaves the house!

Product manager at Drayton, Mikael Eliaeson, said: “We’re constantly looking at ways to develop the level of control our users can have with our Wiser system and heighten connectivity options, as more people are developing smart homes.”

Eliaeson concludes: “Connecting is simple – users set up a free account with IFTTT, link the Wiser account with IFTTT, then simply visit the Wiser Heat channel to start using the ready-made Applets or create their own command ‘recipes’.”
