Good Energy has been announced as the official sponsor of The Festival of Sustainable Homes.

The event, due to be held in Swindon on Friday and Saturday 17-18th May, is expected to attract thousands of people from across the South West.

The family-friendly show at the National Self Build & Renovation Centre will feature more than 200 exhibitors offering advice and information on how to make homes more sustainable, together with inspiring talks and educational tours.

It will also feature a nature zone shining a spotlight on charities and other organisations working to protect the environment.

Good Energy, based in Chippenham, has been at the forefront of clean energy for a quarter of a century.

In addition to supplying electricity backed by power from a UK network of more than 2,000 renewable generators, the company offers bespoke solar panel and heat pump installations.

Head of marketing Laura Wildish said: “We’re excited to support the NSBRC’s first festival and look forward to it being a huge success.

“People are increasingly keen to play their part in tackling the climate crisis, and there’s no better place to start than how we power and heat our own homes.

“The festival will be perfect for anyone wanting to enjoy a greener life.”

The NSBRC, at Lydiard Fields off junction 16 of the M4, is the UK’s only permanent visitor centre designed specifically to meet the needs of individual self-builders, renovators and home improvers.

Managing director Harvey Fremlin said: “With a 25-year legacy as renewable pioneers, based down the road from us in Chippenham, Good Energy are the ideal partners for the festival.

“We are excited to work with the team to help thousands of people to learn more about creating better, sustainable homes.”

The Festival of Sustainable Homes will be open on Friday and Saturday 17th-18th May from 9am-5pm, with free parking. Tickets are free if booked in advance.
