The reputable 2022 30 under 30 awards, hosted by eFIXX and proudly sponsored by Luceco Group, recognises up-and-coming talent within the electrical industry and showcases the next generation of electrical contractors. Individuals were nominated for contributing significantly to the industry and proving that they are willing to go above and beyond in delivering outstanding service and results.

The 30 outstanding winners were awarded on Thursday 31st March 2022 during a virtual ceremony. In October 2022, Luceco hosted a special event to celebrate this year’s winners at the Jaguar Experience Centre, Castle Bromwich. This gave winners the unique chance to hear from Luceco Group Managing Director Wayne Hill, and Installation Director Ben Coombes on the development of BG Sync EV. eFIXX hosted a forum for the winners to give feedback about the electrical industry, grow their networks, and share tips for success. Alongside checking out Jaguar’s newest electric vehicle, the I-PACE, delegates received LED lighting project insights from Simon Shenton, and participated in lunch, drinks and go-kart racing.

One of those 30 under 30 recipients is Dale Hunter, founder of A10 Electrical. Dale shares what it’s like to be announced as a winner of such a prestigious title. Dale explains how his passion and interests led to his role in the electrical industry. He stated: “I’ve been fascinated by electrical engineering since I was a teen and proud to have been an electrical engineer for ten years now.”

Dale offers advice for the next generation trying to progress within the electrical contractor industry: “Don’t be afraid to ask questions. You never stop learning, as the electrical industry is always evolving. Owning your own business is achievable if you put your mind to it. Never give up. It was a hard road to get to where I was as an apprentice, I had to send my CV to around 50 different companies to get to where I am today. It takes a lot of commitment and hard work, but it all pays off in the long run. I joined the event with these amazing people surrounded by the innovation and up-and-coming members of the industry. Anyone can do it,  they’ve just got to be consistent and work hard to get there.”

This commitment is just one of the qualities that has distinguished him from the other candidates. He states: “Already being an entrepreneur, always having new ideas and looking for new challenges, is what set me apart from others.”

He also discussed how winning the 30 under 30 award has raised his business profile: “A10 Electrical has gone from strength to strength since winning the award. Being awarded a 30 under 30 has huge value in allowing us to show that we can be trusted and that we have been recognised for our great work, as well as increasing our social media exposure. Receiving this accolade has also inspired us to do more for the electrical industry.

“Having the credibility of a respected manufacturer such as Luceco Group supporting the programme has created great publicity, as they are such a prestigious and well-known British brand. Being UK-based, it’s amazing exposure for a new award like this coming into the electrical world and I am extremely proud and grateful to be part of it.”
