How it feels to be a 30 under 30 Winner: Iona Glover

Hosted by eFIXX and proudly sponsored by Luceco Group, the 30 under 30 awards are celebrating up-and-coming talent within the industry for the second year in a row. The 30 outstanding winners, who were announced during a virtual ceremony on Friday 31st March 2023, had proven that they are willing to go above and beyond, in delivering outstanding service and results.
Iona Glover is one of those 30 winners, recognised as one of the best in the next generation of electrical contractors. When asked how it feels to be selected as one of the 30 under 30 winners, she stated: “I am over the moon and so pleased to be recognised in my profession.”
She shares what distinguished her from the other candidates: “The environment that I work in is mostly male oriented, and where I work is very dusty and dirty; it is not the usual clean environment that most electricians are used to. I think proving that I can work in this environment helped set me apart.”
Iona also shares the journey that she took to become an electrical technician: “I carried out a four-year apprenticeship to become the electrician that I am, working in most areas on the steelworks during my training.”
When it comes to the next generation trying to progress within the electrical contractor industry, she gives some key advice: “Keep at it and try to keep advancing.”
