The countdown is on for WIT, the annual event for tradeswomen, by tradeswomen, taking place on Friday 3 July at London Metropolitan University in Islington.

Bringing together around 200 tradeswomen, trainees, sponsors and supporters, WIT has become one of the most anticipated dates in the calendar for women working across the skilled trades.

Founded by award-winning plumber, business owner and industry campaigner Hattie Hasan MBE, the event was created to give tradeswomen a dedicated space to connect, share experiences and celebrate their achievements in an industry where women remain significantly underrepresented.

This year’s programme features professional speaker and adventurer Bonita Norris, the youngest person ever to reach both the summit of Mount Everest and the North Pole, alongside Hattie Hasan MBE and contributions from attendees themselves.

Now in it’s 9th successful year, WIT tickets remain free for tradeswomen and women trainees, helping to ensure the event is accessible to women at every stage of their careers, while welcoming make allies as always.

Alongside inspiring talks and conversations, attendees can look forward to free lunch, networking opportunities, raffle prizes, goody bags and, perhaps most importantly, the chance to meet other tradeswomen who understand the realities of working in the industry.

“We’re so proud to create this space for tradeswomen every year,” said Hattie Hasan MBE. “We still meet tradeswomen who’ve never met another tradeswoman until they come to WIT. Seeing those connections happen is what makes the event so special.”

Mica May, event organiser, said: “Every year WIT brings together an incredible mix of women from across skilled trades. For many attendees it’s a rare opportunity to spend a day surrounded by people who share similar experiences, challenges and ambitions. The friendships, support networks and professional connections that come out of WIT often continue long after the event itself, which is why we’re so excited to welcome everyone back this July.”

As WIT returns for another year, organisers are looking forward to welcoming tradeswomen from across the UK for a day of inspiration, connection, celebration and community.
