Mechanical and electrical services specialist J S Wright has stepped up its expansion into facilities management after landing its first maintenance contract.

Founded in Birmingham in 1890, J S Wright designs and builds mechanical and electrical services for the hotel, residential, social housing, student accommodation, leisure and commercial sectors.

The contractor, which has offices in Birmingham, Bristol and London, has been awarded a one-year rolling contract to maintain the mechanical and electrical systems at Mount Anvil’s 595-home Keybridge scheme in Vauxhall, London.

J S Wright will provide planned and reactive maintenance for the services, which it also designed and installed. The ongoing luxury development includes Keybridge Lofts, which at 37 storeys is the UK’s tallest brick apartment block, and 8-storey Keybridge House, which recently opened to its first residents.

Mick Ferguson (above) has been appointed by J S Wright as residential maintenance engineer with responsibility for ensuring that the development’s plant rooms, heating and ventilation services, fire alarms, CCTV and access controls operate safely and securely and with maximum efficiency at all times.

The experienced aftercare engineer will carry out daily plant inspections and the annual servicing of heat interface units, fan coil units and sprinkler heads in each apartment. He will also support specialist contractors on all health and safety issues and work closely with Mount Anvil’s management company, Y&Y Management.

Philip Oades, estates manager at Mount Anvil, commented: “Creating homes and communities that enhance London’s world-class reputation involves working with partners we can rely on. J S Wright has consistently delivered the quality of service to support our legacy.”

Marcus Aniol, managing director of J S Wright, said: “Our first maintenance contract enhances the credentials of our growing maintenance and aftercare departments as we continue to broaden the range of services we can offer clients and their partners.”
J S Wright recently appointed Scott Holdsworth as head of a new maintenance department that will offer scheduled servicing and maintenance initially for all plant and systems installed by the company.

The company, which has offices in Bristol and London, was voted one of the UK’s Top Ten Specialist Contractors to Work For in the 2016 Construction Enquirer Awards and was a finalist in three categories in this year’s H&V News Awards.
