Legrand Announces Return of Free Commissioning Offer for Education Buildings
Posted by: electime 28th October 2024
Legrand’s free commissioning offer to anyone who purchases one of its CP Electronics lighting control systems for an education building is back by popular demand.
The original offer ended on 30 September 2024, having helped deliver 16 new primary schools and imp
rove the lives of an estimated 4,000 pupils. Now, in response to high demand, Legrand has renewed the offer ahead of the October half term to run for the rest of 2024.
With the offer, Legrand aims to help schools, and other education buildings, meet recommendations from The Society of Light and Lighting, Lighting Guide 14, section 8.2 around commissioning, which states: “Many lighting control products are supplied with factory default settings that allow the device to operate the lighting in a basic controlled way to enable the installer to verify the installation is basically operational pending commissioning and set-up by an adequately trained commissioning engineer.”
As a result of the complex steps involved, commissioning an education building can take several days to complete, reducing budget available for other upgrades.
When providing a quote, Legrand will calculate the number of commissioning days required for the system and apply this to the quote without charging.
The offer is available now and includes all lighting control systems including:
- RAPID – a fully addressable and networkable lighting control system which combines state-of-the-art technology and modular mechanics, with easy-to-use graphical interfaces
- Vitesse – all systems, including Vitesse Plus and Vitesse Modular
John Carruthers, Managing Director of Legrand Working & Living Spaces, said: “The strong take up of our initial free commissioning offer for education buildings has underscored the challenges facing the sector. Balancing the need to provide the highest standard of working environment for pupils while meeting safety and efficiency requirements is never easy, but this challenge is exacerbated when considering the strict budgets the industry has to work within.
“Our mission at Legrand is to improve lives, and this extends to the next generation. That’s what prompted us to offer free commissioning in the first instance and why we have opted to continue it following high demand.
“Our extensive knowledge of the challenges on these types of projects, coupled with our intuitive lighting control systems, provides a fantastic proposition for any educational spaces.”
