Training and BIM Manager at Legrand UK & Ireland, Matt Crunden, has been honoured in the inaugural Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers’ (CIBSE’s) Society of Digital Engineering Hall of Fame, for his commitment to encouraging digitisation across the electrical industry.
In November, awards were presented at the Build2Perform Live event, where Matt was recognised for his focused liaison with the manufacturing side of the industry, alongside his continued provision of unbiased insight and opinion that has informed the creation of many of CIBSE’S Product Data Templates (PDTs).
Through working with the BIM4M2 manufacturing group and BEAMA, Matt started fostering relationships with CIBSE. He joined their CIBSE’s Digital Engineering steering group, which involves members looking at digital themes across the built environment. The group has since created and launched the Society of Digital Engineering (SDE).
CIBSE’s SDE launched the Hall of Fame, which is in it’s inaugural year, honours people who are actively involved and interested in digitising industry and have been instrumental in promoting CIBSE’s digitisation work.
Speaking of his accolade, Matt Crunden comments: “I am delighted to have been recognised by CIBSE, an iconic institution which goes above and beyond to ensure there is discussion and collaboration across the industry. From manufacturers to consultants and architects, and everyone in between, it is essential for us to understand how industry recognises and exchanges digital information. It is all about being able to work smarter and build more relationships across industry to encourage collaboration.”
