- Electricians scored 178 for perceived value, the best out of all trades
- Electricians also came in third best at returning calls and messages with a score of 57
My Local Toolbox analysed over 10,000 reviews to understand what matters most to customers and which trades came out top. Advanced text analysis was used to gauge and measure the sentiment of phrases for twelve different trades.
Results from the analysis shows that the traits that customers talk about most when they write a review are professionalism (42 per cent), quality of work (34 per cent), punctuality (13 per cent), tidiness (7 per cent) and perceived value (4 per cent).
So, which trades came out best in each of these traits?
Electricians scored highest ahead of other trades for perceived value, came third best at returning calls and messages and were also in the top 5 for punctuality.
Painters came out top for professionalism, builders for quality of work, heating engineers for punctuality and tree surgeons are perceived as the tidiest.
How likely a trade is to be recommended was also analysed with tilers being placed top with 57 per cent of customers recommending them, followed closely by painters with 56 per cent
A common grumble amongst customers or potential customers is ‘they never got back to me’. The analysis of the reviews shows that plumbers are the best at returning calls or messages, followed by heating engineers and electricians in third.
