Stallingborough-based myenergi, pioneer of the world’s first eco-smart electric vehicle (EV) charger, has announced its sponsorship of the 2022 Great Grimsby 10K. Taking place on Sunday 5th June, the charity run will see an estimated 4,000 participants and 6,000 spectators descend on the town for one of the year’s most exciting sporting events.

As part of its sponsorship agreement, myenergi will pace the race with a fully-electric lead car. In addition, runners from the myenergi team will also be taking part; departing from the Grimsby Town Hall and navigating through the town’s historic streets.

The Great Grimsby 10K is organised by Tape2Tape, a local company that hosts fitness events across the Humber and Greater Lincolnshire regions. The run is intended to raise funds for selected charities and, this year, will support OnSide Youth Zone, Harbour Place, A Platform To Talk, The Gardiner Hill Project (part of NAViGO), Mind, Doorstep and RNLI.

Falling on the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend, this year’s event is set to be bigger and better than ever before. For spectators and visitors, 2022 will see the return of the finish line event within the town centre, with a variety of stalls and activities.

Jordan Brompton, co-founder and CMO of myenergi, commented: “As one of the region’s leading employers, we’re committed to supporting local events and celebrating everything that makes Grimsby great! The 10K is one of the town’s most famous occasions and we’re looking forward to being involved.

“For the first time in the event’s history, the lead vehicle will be electric. This not only celebrates Grimsby as the home of myenergi, but also demonstrates how quickly the UK’s transition to electrification is moving. I’m looking forward to attending the event with my friends, family and colleagues, and will be cheering on the myenergi runners. It’s set to be a fantastic day out!”

Nicola and Neil Pattison, founders of Tape2Tape, added: “We are so excited to be working with myenergi – a fantastic local business that continues to lead the way by providing eco-smart technology products to tens of thousands of homes.

“For the first time in our race history, myenergi will lead the runners with an electric car. We are always very conscious of our carbon footprint at our events, so embracing an electric solution is a great symbol of our commitment to lowering our impact. We’d like to thank myenergi for supporting this fantastic community event.”

Renowned for designing and manufacturing industry-leading eco-smart tech devices, including green EV chargers and self-generated energy diverters, myenergi is a true pioneer in the renewable energy revolution. The company’s pioneering products help homes and businesses around the world to embrace a more energy efficient and sustainable future.
