NICEIC, the UK’s leading certification and training body for the electrical industry, is pleased to be returning to InstallerSHOW 2026, taking place at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC), Birmingham, from 23 to 25 June 2026.

NICEIC’s technical experts will be on hand at the organisation’s stand (3D10) to provide guidance on assessments, schemes, and training, and to answer any technical questions attendees may have. This year will also see a strong focus on emerging technologies, skills, and practical support for contractors navigating a rapidly evolving electrical landscape.

NICEIC representatives will also deliver a number of talks and seminars on topics ranging from upskilling to renewables:

  • 23 June, 13:00, Experienced Worker Assessment (EWA): Alex Robinson, Head of Training at NICEIC, will discuss how the Experienced Worker Assessment (EWA) can provide a route for electricians to gain formal recognition of their existing skills. The session will cover eligibility criteria, how the assessment works, how it compares to traditional qualification routes, and the steps required to achieve the Level 3 benchmark.
  • 24 June, 13:00, Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS): Sam Donaghy, NICEIC’s Head of Technical Advice and Practice, and Daniel Yeates, NICEIC’s Energy Efficiency Scheme Manager, will explore the fundamental requirements of Electrical Energy Storage Systems (EESS). They will cover everything from system design to installation and energy efficiency, providing practical guidance on standards, compliance, and best practice.
  • 25 June, 11:00, Future of Heating: Dani Putney, Head of Standards at NICEIC and Daniel Yeates, NICEIC’s Energy Efficiency Scheme Manager, will be looking at the future of heating and the shift away from fossil fuels, in line with the UK’s 2050 net zero target. Central to this transition is the £15 billion Warm Homes Plan, launched in 2026, which aims to retrofit five million homes by 2030 through improved insulation, solar panels and wider heat pump adoption.

Not to be missed

This year, the WorldSkills UK team for Electrical Installation will be at InstallerSHOW in the final stages of their preparation for WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, taking part in pressure tests alongside competitors from around the world. This provides a valuable opportunity to experience the demands of global competition and to support the UK team as they prepare to take on the world’s best talent later this year.

Paul Collins, Technical Director at NICEIC, said: “InstallerSHOW provides a fantastic opportunity to engage directly with contractors and understand the challenges they’re facing on the ground. As the industry evolves at speed, NICEIC will continue to provide the clear guidance and technical insights electrical contractors value so they can meet new changes head-on.”

Visitors are encouraged to attend NICEIC’s sessions and visit the stand to gain practical insights, ask questions, and explore the opportunities shaping the future of the electrical industry. InstallerSHOW is free to attend, with registration available via the official event website.
