Panasonic Delivers Sustainable Heat Pump Solution for Connect Housing Tenants

Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions provided Connect Housing with a sustainable heating and domestic hot water (DHW) solution for their new development of 14 homes in Halifax.
Panasonic Aquarea J-Series air-to-water heat pumps were specified by installers, Air Distribution Ltd and supplied by specialist Distributor Logicool, to provide highly energy-efficient heat pump technology, designed to keep residents warm whilst ensuring low running costs.
The decision to specify Panasonic heat pumps over traditional gas boilers was driven by Connect Housing’s commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency. With over 3,500 properties, the housing association is now regularly using Panasonic solutions across its developments in place of gas boilers in their new developments and to retrofit existing housing stock.
Each home is equipped with smart controls linked to Panasonic’s Comfort Cloud app, allowing residents to monitor and manage their energy usage remotely. A user guide was provided as part of the move-in package, allowing residents to navigate the system with ease and take hold of smart monitoring.
Director of Home at Connect Housing, Martyn Broadest, commented, “Alongside enhanced thermal performance of the building fabric, air-source heat pumps provide a reliable and cost-effective way for many of our customers to be warm and have plenty of hot water. Residents have responded positively, especially noting lower energy bills compared to their previous homes with older, less energy efficient gas boilers. One tenant described their new property as a “dream home”.
The Panasonic Aquarea J Series is available in a wide range of sizes from 5 to 16 kW and can be connected to the domestic hot water tank (DHW) for ease of installation. Delivering a high energy efficiency rating of A+++ Energy Class at 35ºC and A++ at 55ºC, plus a high SCOP capacity, the Panasonic system can work under higher pressure and reach a 60ºC water flow temperature for top class energy efficiency and lower running costs.
