Power move for Solidus Packaging Solutions thanks to QUEST Electrical

International packaging specialists Solidus expanded their Yorkshire production site after seeking specialist help from QUEST Electrical to overcome challenges with power supply.
The manufacturers were expanding part of their UK operation, Solidus Packaging Solutions Ltd, and required a mains upgrade and a full suite of high quality cables, cabinets and section boards.
The three-month, £260,000 project, allowed the Skipton factory to increase productivity without impacting on their ongoing operations as QUEST installed thermosetting cables, distribution equipment, earths and isolators to allow mains power to safely branch out to new locations,
QUEST’s specialists installed:
- 2 x 4c -185mm SWA XLPE in parallel to the 630A distribution equipment with separate earths
- 1 x 4c – 185mm SWA XLPE to the 400A distribution equipment with separate earth
- 1 x 4c – 150mm SWA XLPE for the 315a section board with separate earth
- 1 x 4c – 95mm SWA XLPE with separate earth for the 250A distribution board
These are run in on the 600mm heavy duty containment and then branch off to the locations required.
The installation allowed Solidus to harness a new production area within the factory and with the sufficient power requirements.
