A year on from the launch of its work at height safety campaign, Stepping Up to Ladder Safety, Werner, the leading access equipment specialist, celebrates campaign success and reminds professionals that best practice while working at height is still as essential as ever.

Focusing on how to stay safe when working at height, the campaign launched in July 2022 and offers professionals a series of downloadable safety guides and practical advice.

Having been viewed by thousands of professionals over the past year and generating hundreds of web visits, the campaign’s online guides cover best practice topics to help users feel more confident when using working at height equipment, such as how to use equipment safely, how to choose the right equipment for the job, as well as how to inspect ladders correctly. The most popular guide to be downloaded has been the Work at Height Guide, exploring the risks of working at height and how to mitigate these, as well as outlining do’s and don’ts for working on ladders safely.

Justin White, Managing Director for Werner, said: “We are thrilled that our Stepping Up to Ladder Safety campaign has received such a positive response throughout the past year. Prior to launch, we undertook research which revealed that 48% of professionals worry about safety when working at height, demonstrating a clear need for such a campaign.

“We are positive that it will have made an impact in not only the day-to-day practices and confidence of the professionals who have used the guides; but also in setting the industry precedent that manufacturers should always be helping to promote best practice when it comes to equipment use.

“A year on, the campaign is still as essential now as it was at its launch; work at height safety will always be paramount in the construction industry, and preventing falls from height by providing professionals with the advice and resources they need to work safely will always remain a priority to Werner.”

WernerCo remains committed to educating trade professionals and promoting safety when working at height, with part of this ongoing commitment also including a Gold Sponsorship of the No Falls Foundation; a charity dedicated to raising awareness of the risks involved in working at height and providing support to those affected by falls. It also has a dedicated Training Manager, Trevor Robson, who specialises in work at height safety and provides a wide range of on-site and bespoke training courses to professionals working within the construction industry throughout the UK.
