Warrington Specialist Expands UK Lighting Stock as High Demand Drives Surge Across Trade Networks

Commercial lighting manufacturer Spectre Lighting has announced a planned expansion of its UK stockholding, executing a strategic direction to increase inventory levels and ensure continued supply after exceptionally strong market demand across the wholesale, specification and contracting sectors.
Launched in June by 25 year industry specialist Craig Taylor, the Warrington based business entered the sector to tackle a growing pain point in commercial building projects: extended import lead times that frequently stall schedules, disrupt wholesale distribution and force specifiers into last minute product substitutions. By maintaining a dedicated, UK held portfolio of high-specification commercial LED luminaires, Spectre aimed to provide guaranteed fast turnaround delivery across the supply chain.
Initial order volumes reflect a market eager for local supply security. Driven by immediate uptake from stocking wholesalers and project specifiers, primary product lines – including high-efficiency LED panels, architectural downlights and industrial high bays – saw rapid commercial adoption straight out of the gate.
To maintain this momentum and guarantee seamless availability for ongoing projects, Spectre is scaling up inventory levels at its Warrington facility, ensuring core commercial lines remain ready for immediate dispatch.
“We anticipated strong interest in our UK first strategy, but the level of engagement across all channels has been phenomenal,” says Craig Taylor, Managing Director of Spectre Lighting. “Wholesalers need supply stability, specifiers want confidence that specified fixtures will arrive on site and installers need to keep projects moving. Increasing our UK stock allocations is a deliberate move to ensure we consistently deliver on that promise.”
The early trading figures also highlight a clear shift in how buyers across the commercial lighting sector select their partners.
“What’s particularly clear from our first few months is that priorities have evolved,” Taylor explains. “It’s no longer just a conversation about unit price. Specifiers, contractors and wholesalers are looking at guaranteed lead times, energy performance and direct technical backup. Offering locally backed, precision engineered solutions is precisely why the response has been so strong.”
With its high-inventory model firmly established, Spectre is continuing to build on this solid foundation, with plans to expand its technical support team and broaden its commercial portfolio over the coming 12 months.
