Ahead of today’s Zero Emissions Vehicle Summit the Renewable Energy Association (REA) has welcomed 2018’s policy development and called on the Government to build on a year of success.

Dr Nina Skorupska CBE, Chief Executive of the Renewable Energy Association (REA), said:

“Today’s Summit shows the Government’s commitment to delivering on their EV agenda. The recent Road to Zero Strategy and Automated and Electric Vehicle Act have provided a proper platform for the industry to build on, and the EV Energy Taskforce a forum in which to take action on grid-related issues.

“On the back of this suite of successes now is not the time for rest. This Summit is an excellent opportunity for Governments from around the world to discuss what’s worked well and what’s missed the mark. Particularly, we will be at the Summit discussing reviewing building regulations, defining smart charging, reforming local grids, the availability of land for charging hubs, amending Benefit in Kind tax rates for EVs, delivering a charging network that allows for greater interoperability and roaming between providers, and how these can be implemented at speed.”
