KNIPEX has unveiled a tougher, sharper and more comfortable take on its trusted High Leverage Diagonal Cutter (74 200) – in the 200mm length and built to deliver even more power with less effort.
The redesigned tool features high-precision, inductively hardened cutting edges that deliver long-lasting performance even on the toughest wires, including piano wire. With a cutting-edge hardness of around 64 HRC and the edges positioned close to the pivot, cutting force is transmitted with maximum efficiency. The result is effortless slicing through medium-hard wire up to 4.2 mm, hard wire up to 3.0 mm and piano wire up to 2.5 mm.
A key upgrade in the new design is the refined power joint, which reduces the required effort by around 20% compared to the previous model. This improvement has a direct impact on hand strain, making repeated cutting tasks noticeably less tiring. The ergonomic handle has also been reshaped for better grip and comfort; users can hold the tool closer to the joint, shortening the handle opening width and making every cut easier on the hands. For tradespeople who spend hours cutting tough materials, the new design offers lasting relief from fatigue and strain.
KNIPEX has also expanded the handle options to suit a wider range of tasks and preferences. Alongside the established handle styles, the new model is now available with comfort handles. These have the KNIPEXtend interface which enables practical add-ons like TetheredTools clips for tool fall protection and ColorCode clips for easier identification. Electricians working on live systems aren’t left out either – the cutter is available in VDE-tested versions certified for up to 1,000 volts, meeting the most rigorous safety requirements.
