CTEK’s CC3 charge point

Installers have until 26 May to submit claims for Electric Vehicle (EV) chargepoint grants under three schemes which are now closed by the Government’s Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV).

The three schemes which ended on 31 March were: the infrastructure grant for staff and fleets; the commercial landlord grant; and the residential landlord infrastructure grant.

EV chargepoint brand CTEK is warning installers that any projects that qualify for the closed schemes have a strict deadline of 26 May for installers to claim the grants. Any applications which require further evidence will see installers able to resubmit the claims up to 6 July.

The infrastructure grant for staff and fleets was for wider building work to install multiple chargepoint sockets now and in the future. Open to businesses with less than 250 staff, the grants were up to £350 per chargepoint socket installed and up to £500 per parking space enabled, to a maximum of £15,000.

The commercial landlord grant provided funding of up to £350 or 75% off the cost of purchasing and installing EV charging sockets. Landlords could claim up to 100 commercial property grants per financial year for staff or fleet use.

The residential landlord infrastructure grant was for apartment blocks or estates sharing a car park. The grant covers 75% of the cost of the work, up to a maximum of £30,000 per installation, with £350 per chargepoint socket installed and up to £500 per parking space enabled with supporting infrastructure.

Viktors Nikolajevs, UK Key Account Manager at CTEK, said: “Installers who have worked on qualifying projects should ensure they have applied by 26 May to secure the grants.

“If OZEV comes back to installers asking for further information, the next and final deadline is July 6, with OZEV promising all claims will be processed as long as installers provide the requested information by the deadline. If installers need access to chargepoints to complete projects, CTEK has UK stock.

“There are still other grants available for EV chargepoint installations until March 2027, including for flat owners, renters, residential landlords, households with on-street parking, workplaces and state-funded education institutions. Installers should explore these opportunities with existing or potential clients.”

The Government’s Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) has set up a new portal for grant applications for the flats, renters and residential grants that are continuing until 2027. The ‘Find a Grant’ service will ask customers to apply for the grants directly rather than being given a link by installers.
