Commercial Lighting manufacturer, Whitecroft Lighting, has strengthened its senior leadership team with the appointment of Steve Wilson as IT Director, supporting the company’s growing focus on artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity and data-driven innovation.
Bringing extensive experience in managing IT systems, Wilson will lead the strategic adoption of AI technologies, strengthen the company’s cybersecurity accreditation, and drive improvements in data and information sharing across the business.
The appointment forms part of Whitecroft Lighting’s wider digital transformation programme, designed to ensure its internal technology capabilities evolve alongside the advanced lighting solutions it develops for customers.
Wilson will also play a key role in shaping the IT and technology strategy across the wider Fagerhult Group, a pan-European network of lighting companies, of which Whitecroft Lighting is a part of.
Working alongside Fagerhult Group’s collective of 13 companies, he will lead initiatives to improve collaboration, establish group-wide best practices in areas such as AI and cybersecurity, and identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve efficiency, resilience, and long-term business performance.
Wilson brings over two decades of experience, including leading large-scale digital transformation programmes within both manufacturing and multi-site organisations.

Wilson said: “Joining Whitecroft Lighting at this stage of its growth journey is a fantastic opportunity. The business has ambitious plans, a strong heritage and a clear commitment to innovation, and I’m looking forward to helping shape the next phase of its digital transformation.
“There is huge potential to harness AI across Whitecroft Lighting and advanced manufacturing, and one of my first priorities will be to align AI with the company’s business goals, whether that’s enhancing productivity, streamlining processes or supporting better decision-making, while maintaining the highest standards of cyber security and governance.”
Wilson concludes: “I believe IT should be represented at board level in any modern organisation, so the opportunity to join Whitecroft’s senior leadership team and work more closely with colleagues across the wider Fagerhult Group was a major attraction. By taking a more joined-up approach, we can share best practice across the Group and unlock new opportunities for innovation.”
David Serif, Managing Director, Whitecroft Lighting said: “Whitcroft Lighting and the Fagerhult Group are increasingly a technology and data-led business, so it’s essential that IT helps shape their strategic direction.
“AI is set to have a huge impact on not only how we operate and manufacture as a business, but also the capabilities of increasingly intelligent lighting systems.
“But connectivity also increases demands around data security and resilience, which is paramount to our staff and customers as we continue to innovate.”
