E.ON welcomed business, policy, cultural and media guests to E.ON Next House last night for an exclusive viewing of The ReIndustrial Revolution artworks created by acclaimed British artist Mark Hearld.

The event brought together E.ON leaders, stakeholders and guests to explore three commissioned artworks inspired by the people, places and projects at the heart of Britain’s industrial future. Developed in collaboration with schoolchildren from across the UK, the pieces were created to bring E.ON’s ReIndustrial Revolution campaign to life and spark conversations about the role of energy in supporting economic growth, industrial competitiveness and local communities.

Artist Mark Hearld said: “All growth should be sustainable. E.ON’s campaign is a such a positive initiative. I was excited by the dynamic challenge of showing nature flourishing alongside the architecture of redevelopment and greener energy production. A derelict Mill at Silvertown on the Thames about to be redeveloped sustainably, a biomass power station with a ‘black paper cut’ silhouette rising up from a wildflower meadow alive with oxeye daisies in Sheffield, and finally pigeons roosting on the foreground ridge of a roofscape in Glasgow, with its solar panels and home batteries to make energy costs more affordable for low-income families.”

Speaking at the event, Vijay Tank, Chief Commercial Officer, Energy Infrastructure Solutions, E.ON UK, said: “We absolutely believe there is a bright future for energy in the UK, and we have real conviction that by choosing solutions available today we can unlock opportunity for businesses and communities alike. Through this artwork, we’re bringing to life our vision for a more competitive, sustainable and prosperous future.”

Vijay also highlighted the economic opportunity identified through E.ON’s ReIndustrial Revolution work, noting the potential to unlock £2 billion of value for UK manufacturers by helping businesses turn energy challenges into long-term assets and competitive advantage.

Artist Mark Hearld discussed the inspiration behind the works and the collaborative process with schools around the country, while guests had the opportunity to view the artworks and learn more about the projects and locations represented within them.
