LCL Awards helps plug the EV demand

In response to a growing demand for electric vehicles, LCL Awards has developed a new EV charging qualification; Level 3 Award in the Installation and Commissioning of Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment in Domestic, Commercial and Industrial locations. The course has been introduced to help electricians take advantage of a marketplace that has grown significantly over recent years.
The government is aiming for at least 50% of new car sales to be ultra-low emission by the year 2030, with £400 million invested to accelerate the roll-out of charging infrastructure, creating many more jobs for suitably trained installers. Other factors driving demand include the Government’s recently published consultation document that proposes a change to building regulations that would see EV charging points mandatory on all new domestic and non-domestic buildings, and all existing non-residential buildings.
There’s clearly an urgent need for electrical engineers with the skills to fit a the EV charging network.
