North West commercial mechanical and electrical contractor, Genlec, is celebrating three decades in business.

The family owned operation, led by former electrician and entrepreneur, Jonathan Twentyman, has grown to become one of the largest contractors in this specialist sector delivering major projects up to £20million in value.

Today the firm employs a large local workforce and with a current turnover of £15million has recently announced plans to double turnover in the following five years.

Jonathan commented: “Operating for 30 years in the construction business is undoubtedly a major accomplishment in today’s challenging environment. Genlec has grown steadily and organically through the years, and is today known as a provider of large, complex projects operating across a wide range of industry sectors.

“We have a lot to celebrate at Genlec. We have built an incredibly robust business that’s grown to become a leader in its field within the North West.”

The business headquarter remains in its original home town of Leigh, Greater Manchester, the area in which Jonathan was born and raised.

He added: “I’ve been determined to retain our presence in Leigh, employing local people and providing long term, sustainable employment opportunities. It’s through our people, our drive and ambition that we have developed a market leading reputation, which we will continue to build upon moving forward as we drive forward our ambitious growth and expansion plans.”
