A Suffolk based charity is looking forward to a more efficient New Year thanks to the generosity of a local business.
The Eye Opportunity Group, based behind the Hartismere Hospital in the town, has been running for 35 years and supports families with children under five who have disabilities or special needs.
But its only computer was becoming slower and slower causing difficulties in its day to day operations.
So, the charity approached Hughes Electrical in Diss to see if they could help and ended up with a new laptop!
“It will be the main computer for us and be used for all office work such as grant applications, reports, networking and research,” said Sanchia Brandreth from the Eye Opportunity Group.
“We need to continuously fundraise to keep the charity going and the new laptop will help us do this far more efficiently.
“We approached Hughes as they helped us last year by donating equipment after we had suffered a number of break-ins and we very much appreciate their generous support once more.”
Said Nick Boast, manager of the Hughes store on Victoria Road; “We were more than happy to help Sanchia and her colleagues at the Eye Opportunity Group as we know what a great asset they are to the surrounding area.
“As a business we have been operating in the area for decades and see ourselves as very much part of the local community so we were only too pleased to help and are delighted to hear what a big difference the laptop will make.”
